First Lady's Tour

1998 Tour of Historic Sites and
Collections on the East and West Coasts

F

Conservatory of Flowers
One stop on the 1998 Save America's Treasures Tour was San Francisco's Conservatory of Flowers, the oldest building in Golden Gate Park and the oldest greenhouse in California.

rom June through December 1998, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton led Save America's Treasures Millennium Committee members on a series of visits to diverse historic sites and collections on the East and West Coasts. Many of the sites visited have since been able to build on the Save America's Treasures events to increase public awareness and raise funds in support of restoration projects.

To learn about the historic sites visited during 1998 by Hillary Rodham Clinton or members of the Millennium Committee on behalf of Save America’s Treasures, check out the links below, as well as the First Lady’s home page, which includes photos from the East Coast and West Coast events.
